Automated Extraction of Complexity Measures from Engineering Drawings

The AM4Rail research project examines the feasibility of using additive manufacturing to produce spare parts for rail transport. This involves analyzing engineering drawings from various time periods and styles to extract complexity measures, such as the external part dimensions. An automated system utilizing AI methods is being developed and evaluated for this purpose, with data provided by ÖBB and Wiener Linien. The extracted information will be used in a subsequent AM potential analysis by domain experts.
