Activities

The discussion groups are informally organized by volunteers assigned on site. The extended breaks will give participants the option for recreational activities in the nearby mountains.

Skiing: Kaprun / Maiskogel lifts, which are connected to Kitzsteinhorn (see panorama map)
Skiing tickets are not included in the workshop price.

In addition to skiing, skiing tours and skiing / snowboard courses are often organized by the participants. We will collect participants' special interests and connect people for further organization.

Other winter activities in the region: cross-country skiing, winter hiking, all-year alpine coaster etc. (see tourist board of Kaprun / Zell am See).

Offers by the hotel: pool, sauna, gym

Registration

To register, please contact your group leader or the person who invited you. Group leaders recently received the information about how many shared room (!) spots are reserved for their group. Registrations are processed locally on the basis of single- and shared-room contingents assigned to each group. Unused places are returned and distributed newly by the workshop chairs. All participants have to be members of the invited groups. No spouses etc.

The workshop fee covers the accommodation and is between 250 Euros for shared rooms and 400 Euros for single rooms. Transportation, parking, entry fees etc. are self-organized and not included in the workshop fee.

Travel Information

Traveling to / from Kaprun is self-organized. For people traveling from Vienna or St.Pölten, the TU Wien is suggesting a travel plan for a shared trip (see below). We can assume that the railway is operating again normally in January. Since most people have a Klimaticket now, there will be no group ticket option this year.

Our hotel can be reached by public transport (train to Zell am See + bus ride to Kaprun - see ÖBB Scotty and bus plan).

Parking fee for cars is 12€ per day.

The hotel is within walking distance to the Kaprun lifts

Please plan your travel so that you arrive at the hotel at 4 p.m. latest. The workshop program starts at 5 p.m.!
