This paper is about visualization of bloodflows in patients with aortic dissection. Prognosis of patients who suffer from aortic dissection depends a lot on immediate diagnosis, hence proper means of simulation and visualization of the flow dynamics in the aorta are required. We propose a visualization method illustrating flow data through a cutaway view in the aorta. Realizing the cutaway view on fragment level results in smooth borders of the cutaway surfaces. Furthermore the bloodflow is represented by arrowglyphs, which are advected by the flow in time and space. The bodies of the arrows can be deformed elastically by the flow such that one has a better understanding of velocity and trajectories.
