Abstract

The media artist Hofstetter Kurt creates fascinating tilings by iterative transformations of basic graphical elements. The Inductive Rotation. This process should be automated by specifying the construction with L-Systems. L-Systems are formal grammars originally developed to simulate the growth of plants. But they are a very general tool for all kind of recursively defined objects. Hofstetter's tilings are very well suited for this approach.
