VRML 1.1
is defined in the VRML 1.1 specification draft.
These are the changes from VRML 1.0 to VRML 1.1:
input fields
- VRML 1.1 supports dynamic input fields whitch can be modified by other
nodes.

- now contain a nearDistance and a farDistance clipping plane
ShapeHints
- new field defaults
Background
- Describes a scene background whitch consists of a ground- and sky-colour or a
texture.
CollideStyle
- Describes collision of object with camera (for walls and co.)

- sound objects
ElevationGrid
- Describes a shape as heightfield over a regular grid
Environment
- Describes fog and ambient lighting
GeneralCylinder
- Describes a sweep-shape with twist, bend and tapering
NavigationInfo
- contains view type, speed and headlight state
VolumeProximitySensor
PointProximitySensor
- Sensors that detect proximity to viewer
WorldInfo
- contains title and other document information
Prototyping
- new node types can be defined in the VRML file
