Serveral visualization methods have been applied to the Lorenz system.
The application of the 2-dimensional diagrams x(t) (section 3)
give information of the long time behaviour of a complex dynamical system.
Also visualizing trajectories in phase space (section 2 and 3 ) using proper ways
of color-encoding is useful.
The use of a physical model helps to interpret results given by computer
graphics and allows to better unterstand the behaviour of a given
complex system.
The 2-dimensional diagrams are more efficient for
visualizing movements of
The 3-dimensional visualization in phase space can give more detailed information
that can not be provided by the 2-dimensional diagram as
for instance visualizing a limit cycle (see section 3 for r=24.1).
On the other hand visualizing for instance
500 trajectories for r=6.0 (see section 3)
in 3-D phase space would not give anything else than a dense mesh of curves.
